Preprints Policy
Preprints Policy
Bank and Policy supports the principles of Open Science and allows authors to share preprints of their manuscripts in accordance with internationally accepted academic standards.
Preprint Sharing
Authors may share their manuscripts as preprints (e.g., on recognized preprint servers) prior to or during the peer review process. The posting of a preprint does not constitute prior publication and does not affect the originality or eligibility of the manuscript for publication in the Journal. Authors are advised to avoid multiple, redundant, or concurrent publication and to ensure that preprint sharing complies with ethical publishing standards.
Preprints on SSRN
In line with open research practices, Bank and Policy supports preprint posting on SSRN, a widely recognized preprint and early research repository. Upon submission, authors may choose to post their manuscript on SSRN after it has passed the Journal’s initial editorial screening (desk review). Preprints made available on SSRN may benefit from:
early assignment of a preprint DOI;
increased visibility and early dissemination of research findings;
potential for early scholarly feedback and citations;
linkage to the final published version of record, if the manuscript is accepted.
Editorial Independence
The decision to post or not post a preprint has no influence on the editorial evaluation, peer review process, or final publication decision.
Author Responsibilities
The corresponding author is responsible for:
obtaining consent from all co-authors prior to posting a manuscript as a preprint;
ensuring that the preprint version clearly indicates that it has not yet been peer reviewed;
complying with the terms and conditions of the selected preprint platform.
Final Note
Authors are encouraged to consult the relevant preprint server policies (e.g., SSRN Terms of Use) for further information.
